The Archaeological Institute of America, a nonprofit educational organization, was founded in 1879 and chartered by Congress in 1906. North America's largest archaeological society, its members include professional archaeologists, students, and many others from all walks of life. This diverse group is united by a shared passion for archaeology and its role in furthering human knowledge. The AIA publishes both ARCHAEOLOGY Magazine and the American Journal of Archaeology.

The mission of the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation (USA) (www.onassisusa.org) is to disseminate information about Hellenic civilization throughout the United States and Canada. By cooperating with universities, colleges and art institutions in Greece and throughout America, the Onassis Foundation (USA) promotes bilateral cultural relations.

Bradley A. Ault is Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Classics Department of the University at Buffalo. Professor Ault has participated in archaeological fieldwork in Britain, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, and the United States. His research interests and publications range from studies of Greek houses and households, to Roman and later metalwork. He is the author of the monograph, Ancient Halieis 2. The Houses: The Organization and Use of Domestic Space (Bloomington: Indiana University Press), and, with Lisa Nevett, has edited a volume entitled, Ancient Greek Houses and Households: Chronological, Regional, and Social Diversity (Philadelphia: University of Pennsylvania Press).

The Institute for the Visualization of History (www.vizin.org) is a not-for-profit corporation based in Williamstown, MA. Using data supplied by archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, and others, the Institute applies leading-edge virtual reality and holographic technologies to re-create historic places and monuments in interactive three dimensions The Institute is both a developer of educational materials and a museum of interactive computer-generated environments, serving the general public, schoolchildren, and professional researchers.
