Mountainside cave homes at Acusa

The area of Acusa is a volcanic mesa with steep cliffs on the east, south, and west sides. Acusa's cliffs boast hundreds of cave homes, granaries, and burial caves scattered along their sides. The number of caves at Acusa indicates that the mesa was home to a relatively large number of people at one time. Many of the caves have been reused over the years, and some are still lived in today.
