Directly across the street from the theater is the Municipal Museum, housed in a 17th-century townhouse, and holding a small but fine display of some of the history of the city up to the 18th century including many interesting Roman remains. The four stone heads in the form of theatrical masks shown here are actually funerary in significance and once adorned the corners of sarcophagi.
