Influences

Posted by Rich Annett on August 26, 2000 at 18:13:45:

When I visited the city as a student in 1992 I remember being intrigued by the architectural influences within/behind Nabataean construction. There seemed to be so much monumental architecture which appeared Graeco-Roman while I was lead to believe that the stepped tombs were perculiarly Nabataean.

1)What are the principle influences in Nabataean building design?
2) Do we know what language the inhabitants spoke and who their principle trading partners/outside contacts were?

Sorry to ask so much!
