I am in the U.S. Navy and have been to the city of Petra twice now. Between each visit the erosion of the city is evident. I am extremely interested in your excavation, but I am curious as to what you are excavating. There doesn't seem to be much left to excavate inside the Great Temple itself. Seems there would be more to find outside throughout the city itself.
