The pine cone is proably from the Pinon family. Known for its pine nuts. Ask some of the workers to show you if possible some of the unripened cones from the local pine trees. As far as the other plant is concerned-don't think it's either a pomegrante or a poppy. The carving is rather hard to make out, and seems to be on its side. Would like a better view. The flower that another poster was reffering to is the fuschia. Which, I don't think was common in anchient gardens.
